INTERCARGO has continued to
look into the Environmental, Social,
and Governance (ESG) agenda as a

strategic consideration.

Indeed, the Association’s work programme and the dry bulk
shipping sector closely relate to these critical dimensions.
The work of INTERCARGO on environmental soundness,
the importance of seafarers being centrestage in the safe-
ty imperative, and best practices and DryBMS as drivers of
governance excellence are all indicative examples.
INTERCARGO has been a proud supporter of the ESG
Shipping Awards since their inception in 2023.
