Since the creation of the initial version of the Port Information Manual For Ship-port Interface Data in Apr 2019, the working group of the Port Call Optimization International Taskforce and Subject Matter Experts have been working to finalise it.
The Port Information Manual (PIM) aims to provide a better understanding of the data exchanged in the ship-port interface and of the existing international standards that connect ships and ports. It contains sections such as:
- Port information
- Nautical charts and publications
- Port passage plan
- Berth planning arrival
- Port planning arrival
- Notifications and declarations
- Nautical service planning
- Vessel and cargo service planning
- Safety and Security of Port facilities (ISPS)
- Port planning departure
This Manual has been aligned with the Mariners Handbook (NP100) containing the same definitions. NP100 is a publication that can be found on the shelf of most SOLAS vessels and provides guidance to seafaring and shore personnel alike.
