The eleventh session of the Sub-Committee on Ship Systems and Equipment (SSE 11) took place between Monday, 24 to Friday, 28 February 2025. During the meeting, the following key topics were discussed:

Lifesaving appliance

  • Draft mandatory amendments to the LSA Code, resolution MSC.402(96) and resolution MSC.81(70)
  • Consistent implementation of the requirements contained in resolution MSC.402(96)
  • Definitions for “make”, “type”, “model” and “series” to provide clarity of definitions in resolution MSC.402(96)
  • Ventilation requirements of partially enclosed lifeboats (PELBs)

Fire protection

  • Code of practice for atmospheric oil mist detectors (MSC/Circ.1086)
