DRY BULK SHIPPING IN THE SERVICE OF SOCIETIES: THE SUSTAINABILITY QUESTION Dry bulk ships represent about 43% of the international trading fleet in tonnage terms and INTERCARGO’s Members control over 20% of this fleet. The discussion will address major challenges faced by bulk shipping and how these interrelate with international trade, economic growth, the environment and the well-being of societies.
