INTERCARGO Briefs on IMO’s MEPC 76 and ISWG-GHG 8

The  Eighth Meeting of the IMO’s  Intersessional Working Group on Reduction of GHG Emissions from Ships ISWG-GHG 8 took place Monday 24 to Friday 28 May 2021.

ISWG-GHG 8 reported to the seventy-sixth session of the IMO MARINE ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION COMMITTEE MEPC 76 which took place Thursday 10 to Thursday 17 June 2021.

The ISWG-GHG 8 considered, inter alia:

  • Guidelines supporting the EEXI framework
  • Guidelines supporting the CII framework

MEPC 76, in addition to the report from ISWG-GHG 8, would consider:

  • GHG Reductions
  • Ballast Water Management
  • Fuel Safety/Quality
