MEDIA RELEASE – 6 April 2017

INTERCARGO is deeply concerned at the tragic loss of the VLOC vessel STELLAR DAISY reported on 31 March 2017; our thoughts are with the families and loved ones of the seafarers. As long as there is still hope, our wishes are for the missing officers and crew to be found and the loss of life in this sad event to be minimised, as only 2 of them have been rescued so far, and reportedly 22 still missing.

Please refer to the attached file for the full Media Release.

“IΜΟ has our full support in the mitigation of global GHG emissions from ships”

INTERCARGO expresses its full support and total alignment with IMO Secretary-General Kitack Lim’s concerns that including shipping in the European Union’s Emission Trading System (EU-ETS) could undermine efforts to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from ships on a global basis.
