Bulk Carriers: Leaders of International Growth

INTERCARGO supports the Isalos.net exhibition on the role of Bulk Carriers in our everyday lives

INTERCARGO is proud to support the exhibition “Bulk Carriers of the Greeks: Leaders of International Growth” which is organised by Isalos.net, from 10 February to 7 March 2025, at the Eugenides Foundation in Athens, Greece.

The exhibition aims to give the general public -especially the younger generation- the opportunity to learn about the importance of bulk carriers in our everyday lives.

INTERCARGO Chairman, Mr. John A. Xylas, had the privilege of speaking at the opening of the exhibition, highlighting the critical role of bulk carriers in global trade and INTERCARGO’s commitment to supporting and representing its international membership as the voice of the drybulk shipping sector.

All INTERCARGO members are welcome to attend the exhibition.

About the Exhibition

The scope of the exhibition, which will be free of charge, is to familiarise the public with bulk carriers – their creation and evolution, the main parts of the ship, the different typologies, and their operation – while also presenting stories of life at sea, with the seafarers themselves having a say.

The relationship of Greeks with bulk carriers is highlighted in every section of the exhibition, using photographs, videos, and models of ships from Greek companies, offering an experience that links the past, present, and future. More specifically, visitors will become acquainted with:

  • The history of bulk carriers
  • Modern bulk carriers
  • The life of seafarers at sea
  • The cargo and routes of bulk carriers
  • Technologies and automation in ship operation
  • The present and future of Greek bulk carriers
